Fifty-three thousand people took part in a global study conducted by scientists on the effect of diet on the development of cancer. As a result of the experiment, scientists have found out which foods help less pain and prolong life.
As a result of the experiment, it turned out that participants who ate more citrus fruits, apples, blueberries and green tea lived longer and were less likely to develop cancer and diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
To achieve this effect, it is enough to drink up to 1.5 liters of water every day (not counting tea, coffee, etc.), eat 1 apple, 1 orange, 100 grams of blueberries and 100 grams of broccoli, the researchers found.
Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, substances that help fight cancer cells. Cereals contain fiber, which also reduces the risk of heart attack, diabetes, and cancer. And the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish help to lift mood and improve skin condition.
Scientists suggest that the main benefits are provided by plant molecules – flavonoids, which, when ingested with food, activate enzymes and are known for their anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.
Currently, more than 4000 types of flavonoids are known. It is thanks to these molecules that vegetables and fruits have different colors. Also, a large amount of these substances is found in legumes and nuts.
Modern medical research helps to identify signs of cancer and other diseases at an early stage, when the chances of a full recovery are very high. But it is better to take measures in advance to prevent the onset of the disease.
What is an anti-cancer diet? These are mostly vegetarian, natural food with low fat content.
It makes sense to pay attention to those foods that should not be included in their diet for people who want to lead a healthy lifestyle and prevent cancer.
These include trans fats, which are formed after frying vegetable oils, impart carcinogenic effects to the final product and cause cancer, heart disease and autoimmune disorders.
Carbonated drinks containing high doses of chemicals and sugary syrups that do not provide any nutritional value. It is also worth minimizing the consumption of refined sugar, which can significantly change the level of insulin in the blood, which, in turn, leads to the development of diabetes mellitus and a number of other dangerous diseases.
Weight control is an important factor in the prevention of cancer. Scientists have proven that overweight people are more susceptible to developing cancer.
The sooner you start taking action to maintain your weight, the better. It is not worth putting it off for “later” – with age it is much more difficult to control it, since the metabolism tends to slow down, which begins to manifest itself by the age of forty.
With obesity, a person’s weight is 30% higher than the ideal for him, which puts the body at risk of developing various diseases:
- Diabetes;
- Diseases of the cardiovascular system (including hypertension and varicose veins);
- Osteoarthritis;
- Cancer;
- Complications during pregnancy or during surgery;
- Sleep disturbances and breathing problems.
Even in the absence of weight problems, eating healthy foods throughout your life will be very beneficial for maintaining your health. Such nutrition will help improve your energy, maintain good health and mood.
